Improve performance

Slow websites lose visitors before they've read a word. I design and build fast, responsive websites that load quickly, feel smooth, and keep people engaged from the first click, on a small business's budget or a larger one.

Strengthen credibility

A website is often the first real impression a customer forms of your business. Poor performance, inconsistent layouts, or clunky interactions undermine that fast. I build reliable, well-crafted sites that feel polished and credible on every device.

Drive results

High-performance websites are built to do more than look good. By combining strong technical foundations with clear messaging and thoughtful design, I create experiences that encourage action, increase conversions, and support long-term growth.

Your site, your way
of working

Every site I build is designed around your business rather than dropped onto a template, and that includes how much of it you want to touch once it is live.

I take care of everything

You never open a dashboard. I handle the build, the copy changes, the images, the updates and the monitoring, and you send me a message when something needs to change. Most clients prefer this: it is the option where nothing quietly breaks six months later.

You edit it yourself

Prefer to be hands-on? I build it with a content management system, so you can change text, swap images and add pages yourself, inside the design, so it still looks right afterwards. I set it up, show you how it works, and stay available when you want something bigger.

The kinds of sites I build

  • Landing page

One page, one job. Built around a single campaign or offer and measured on whether it converts.

  • Site vitrine

The clean brochure site: who you are, what you do, how to reach you. Fast, credible, and easy to keep current.

  • Ecommerce

Selling online, on Shopify or WooCommerce - product pages, checkout, and the tracking to see what actually sells.

  • Content & blog

Built to publish. Articles, guides and resources that earn search traffic instead of sitting there.

  • Booking & enquiry

For service businesses: enquiry forms, quote requests and booking flows wired into the tools you already use.

  • Something custom

Portals, calculators, member areas, integrations - when an off-the-shelf template genuinely cannot do the job.

What I build on

By default I build on Astro. It produces plain, static HTML rather than assembling every page on request, which is why these sites load fast, score well on the Core Web Vitals Google measures for ranking, and cost very little to host. There is no database and no plugin stack, so there is far less to go wrong and far less to keep patched.

That said, the right platform is the one that fits how you work. WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify and the rest are all on the table, if you already have a team working in one, need a specific page builder, or want to edit layouts freely yourself, I will build there instead and say so up front. I would rather recommend the right tool than sell you mine.

Website design process
How I work

From blank canvas
to live in weeks

01

Discovery

I audit your current site, map your customer journey, and define the goals every page needs to hit.

02

Design

High-fidelity mockups in Figma, reviewed and refined with you before a single line of code is written.

03

Build

Pixel-perfect implementation with clean, maintainable code. CMS integration so your team can update content independently.

04

Launch & optimise

I handle deployment, set up analytics, and monitor performance post-launch, then iterate based on real data.

How to choose who builds your website

A website is one of the few things a small business buys once and lives with for years. Whether you're weighing up an agency, a freelancer or me, these are worth asking before you commit to anyone.

  1. Ask who owns the code and the domain

Your domain, your hosting, your source code should be yours outright. If a builder keeps the login and disappears when you stop paying, you don't own a website, you're renting one.

  2. Ask what happens after launch

A site nobody touches again starts breaking quietly: a plugin goes unpatched, a form stops sending. Ask what maintenance actually looks like, not just what launch day looks like.

  3. Ask why that platform

WordPress, Shopify, a page builder, a static site: each is the right answer for a different job. Someone recommending the same platform for every client is recommending what they know, not what fits you.

  4. Ask to see real load times

A portfolio full of screenshots says nothing about how fast those sites actually load. Ask for a real site to test, on your own phone, on your own connection.

  5. Ask what a template actually costs you

A templated site is quicker to launch and cheaper up front. What it costs later is everyone in your industry looking the same, and a layout you can't change without breaking it.

Common questions

How much does a website cost for a small business?

It depends on scope: a single landing page and a multi-page site with a booking system are different projects. Cost and timeline are agreed in writing before anything is built, so there's no surprise invoice partway through.

How long does it take to build a website?

A straightforward site is usually a matter of weeks from discovery to launch. Anything with custom functionality, like a booking flow or an online store, takes longer, and I'll give you a real timeline once the scope is clear.

Do I need a custom site, or would a template work?

For a lot of small businesses, a well-built template is the more affordable, perfectly reasonable choice, and I'll say so if that's what fits your budget and timeline. Custom makes more sense once your site needs to do something specific a template can't.

Will my site work on mobile?

Yes, every site is built to work properly on a phone first, not adapted afterwards. Most visitors to most small business sites arrive on mobile, so that's where the design starts, not where it ends up.

Will the site be good for SEO?

The technical side is handled from the start: fast load times, clean markup, proper headings, and a sitemap. That gets you a site Google can crawl and rank properly. Ongoing work like content and link building is separate, and covered on the marketing page.

What happens to my site if I stop working with you?

It's yours. The code, the domain, the hosting, whatever platform it runs on, all in your own accounts. You can take it to someone else at any point, and I'll hand over what they need to pick it up.
