Koolcube is an e-commerce retailer selling cooling products online. They needed a professional storefront to start trading quickly, and a clear path to owning their platform outright as the business grew.
What was in the way
The priority at the start was speed: getting Koolcube to market with a polished, reliable store before anything else. Shopify made that possible. It got them selling without the delay of a from-scratch build.
But as the business grew, the trade-off became clear. Shopify's monthly subscription and per-transaction fees were a permanent overhead on every order. The goal shifted: keep the same storefront quality, move to a platform they owned outright, and stop paying rent on their own shop.
